Questions will include conversations about the Bible story to allow you and your children to reflect on the biblical truth and share your thoughts about the video with each other. - Download more tools, resources, and activities to go along with the video.
Included are coloring pages, craft or activity sheets, games, additional questions and ideas to engage with the Bible story further at home with your child.
Talk It Over
Jesus' Sacrifice
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called Jesus’ Sacrifice with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. And remember, I can choose to follow Jesus my Savior!
- What was your favorite part of the video we just watched?
- What was Jesus doing when he was arrested?
He was praying. - Why did people want Jesus killed?
Not everyone followed Jesus. They didn’t believe he was the true Son of God. They thought he was a liar and that he should be punished for claiming to be God. - Why did Jesus have to die on the cross even though he didn’t want to? Look at John 3:16-17.
He was following God’s plan to save the world. When Jesus died on the cross, all of the bad things we do – our sin – were forgiven. Jesus didn’t want to go through all that pain, but he did it anyway because he loves us even more! He wants us to be with him in heaven forever if we choose to follow him. - Have you ever made the decision to follow Jesus, your Savior?
Jesus came for you! His life on Earth – his birth at Christmas and his death and resurrection at Easter – means that you have the chance to live in Heaven forever with him, too.* - Think about someone you love very much. What can you do to show you love them?
Showing love to others is a great way to show them Jesus. Pray for them to know that Jesus loves them, too, and to know the real reason to celebrate Easter – Jesus is our Savior!
Take some time to pray with your child. You might pray something like this:Â Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus. Thank you for loving us so much! Help us to remember that we can worship Jesus because he saved us. We love you! Amen.
