40 Days Of Prayer: Daniel And The Lions' Den
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story about Daniel and the Lions’ Den with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. Remember that prayer is talking to God!

- What is prayer?
Prayer is talking to God! - What are some things you can talk to God about? (Think about what it says in Philippians 4:6: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
You can talk to God about anything and everything. Whatever you think about, you can pray about. - Is there a right or a wrong way to pray? (For example, do you need to have your eyes closed or use big fancy words?)
Since praying is how we talk to God, you can talk to God like you would talk to a friend. Big and fancy words are not required. You can talk to him in the morning, evening, while you’re eating, or playing a game. You can pray quietly in your head and out loud. You can pray alone and with other people. God loves you and he loves hearing from you. As you get to know him more and as you experience new things, your prayers might change, and that’s okay. - What stands out to you about how, when, or why Daniel prayed in today’s Bible story?
Some things that might stand out may include but are not limited to: Daniel prayed three times every day. He prayed even when he was told not to. He loved and trusted God with every part of his life. Daniel prayed when things were good, when things were bad, and even when things were scary. - How do you feel about praying to God?
It can be pretty exciting to pray to God because he loves you so much. If you’ve never prayed before, you might be unsure about how to pray. No matter how many times you’ve prayed, take some time right now to pray the parts of Philippians 4:6. Tell God something you’re thankful for and talk to him about your day. If you’re worried, pray and tell God. If there is something you need, pray and ask God.
