Talk It Over

The Wise Men Visit Jesus

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story about The Wise Men with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. Remember that we can worship Jesus no matter what!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched?
  2. What does it mean to worship Jesus?
Worship is anything we do or say that tells God we love him.
  3. How did the wise men worship Jesus?
They looked for Jesus and traveled a long way to see him, they protected Jesus from King Herod, they bowed down to Jesus, and they brought him special gifts – gold, frankincense and myrrh.
  4. What are some ways you can worship Jesus?
You can worship Jesus by singing to him, spending time learning about him in the Bible or talking to him through prayer, bowing down to him like the wise men did when you obey him or do what he says is right, or even giving him a gift by making something special for him or giving him money in an offering at church.
  5. When can you worship Jesus?
You can worship Jesus any time of day or night. Christmas is a great time to worship Jesus, but you can show Jesus you love him any day of the year – even after Christmas is over!
  6. Luke 2:10-11 says, “But the angel reassured them. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ he said. ‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the City of David.’” The angel said that the news of Jesus’ birth would bring great joy. How does it make you feel to know Jesus was born to save you?
