Talk It Over

The Last Supper

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called The Last Supper with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. And remember, I will always remember the sacrifice Jesus made for me!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched?
  2. What did the food at the Last Supper represent?
The bread represented Jesus’ body and the wine represented his blood.
  3. Why was it called the Last Supper? What was going to happen next?
It was the last meal Jesus and his disciples shared together before Jesus went to die on the cross.
  4. What is something we can do today to remember Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross?
We can do what Jesus said and take communion – where we drink grape juice and eat bread as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice. We can read the Easter story in our Bible, or we can sing songs of thanks to Jesus for his sacrifice.
  5. Who did Jesus die on the cross to save?
    Everyone.
  6. Why did Jesus die for us? Take a look at John 3:16-17 that says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
Jesus died for us because he loves us! That means he died to save you and me and everyone in the entire world, so that our sins could be forgiven. Jesus’ death and resurrection made it possible for all sins to be forgiven and for all of us to be in God’s family in Heaven forever.
