Talk It Over
The Triumphal Entry
Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s Bible story called The Triumphal Entry with your child after they’ve watched this week’s Church at Home elementary video. And remember, I will worship Jesus because he is my Savior!
- What was your favorite part of the video we just watched?
- What did the people do when Jesus rode into town?
They shouted and sang praises to him. They yelled “Hosanna!” and laid coats and palm fronds on the ground to show their honor and love for their King Jesus. - Was everyone happy to see Jesus? Why or why not?
No. The religious leaders called Pharisees hated Jesus and told people not to worship him. They thought he was a liar. They didn’t believe he was truly the Son of God. - Why was Jesus sad as he got closer to Jerusalem?
Even though lots of people loved and worshipped Jesus, there were many who didn’t believe he was the Son of God. Jesus wept because he loved all of them and wanted them to be saved. - What does it mean to worship Jesus?
Worship is anything we do, say, or think that shows our thanks and praise to God. - What are some ways you can worship Jesus for being your Savior?
You can sing to Jesus, think about him, pray to him, tell other people about him, make good choices, create art or take pictures of his creation – anything you do that praises God is worship! Maybe you would like to pray to him for the first time today and tell him you believe he is God’s Son and your Savior.
