God’s Promises Week 1: The Lost Sheep

Hey parents! Use these questions as a guide to talk over this week’s lesson about the Bible story, The Lost Sheep, with your child after they’ve watched the video service!

  1. What was your favorite part of the video we just watched?
  2. What kind of animal was lost in Jesus’ story?
    Sheep
  3. In Jesus’ story, what did the shepherd do when one of his sheep was missing?
The shepherd went to find the lost sheep. When he found it, he celebrated and told everyone. The shepherd loves his sheep, just like God loves us.
The priest, Eli, told Hannah that God would answer her prayer, and then God made it so Hannah could have a baby.
  4. Which Super Skuppet was missing? Who found her?
Zara was missing but Winston found her because he cares about his friends. This story and the Bible story about the lost sheep remind us of God’s promise to take care of us!
  5. How does it make you feel that God promises to take care of you?
God loves you so much. That’s why he made you. He wanted you to be born so that you could be in his family and he could love you, help you, and take care of you.

Pray with your child and thank God for his good promises! You might pray something like this: Dear God, thank you that you love us so much and that you want everyone to be in your family. Thank you for your promise to take care of us. We love you so much and want everyone to know your love, too. Amen.
