Father’s Day Geocache

This year, spend Father’s Day enjoying the great outdoors with Dad. Father's Day weekend, starting June 20th, Mill City Christian Church will be hosting a free community-wide geocache treasure hunt. "We think it's important to honor our fathers on Father's Day and so we wanted to provide a unique experience that lets families build great memories together," stated Pastor Paul Luna, "However, we recognize it that we needed to think creatively with planning an event that would still allow us to maintain social distancing. That's how we came up with the idea of doing a Father's Day Geocache Treasure Hunt with a family."
Geocaching is a worldwide recreational activity, in which participants use a GPS or smartphone to seek buried geocache containers, treasures chest, at specific locations. These sites are scattered between Detroit Lake and the City of Lyons. Each of the geocache locations will have a buried container with prizes for the little kids and a family topic to discuss and laugh over. "We wanted to make a free event for our community that would draw families together. If you're a father, a single mom, an uncle, grandfather or guardian then we want to invite you to be a part of this geocaching event," said Luna.
To participate in this Father's Day Geocache Treasure Hunt, download the participant guide and geocache locations.
