Reflecting Christ’s Love Through Service

We talk about the love of Jesus a lot, but if people don’t see it in action, those words don’t mean much. Mark 10:45 reminds us, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” Jesus didn’t just say He loved people, He proved it by feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and washing the feet of His own disciples. He got involved in real, messy, everyday life.

That’s why Eggstravaganza isn’t just an Easter event—it’s a chance to get out there and be the hands and feet of Christ. Whether you’re setting up chairs, handing out candy, or talking with families, you’re putting Christ’s love on full display. The Church.org article on Christian volunteering says it well:

“When we serve others, we become the hands and feet of Jesus. It’s not just about filling a role; it’s about reflecting the selflessness of Christ in all we do.”

People may forget a sermon, but they won’t forget the person who took time to talk with them, who prayed for them, who made them feel welcome. Those are the moments where faith becomes real.

Church That Serves Together Stays Together

Nothing strengthens relationships like serving alongside one another. You see people’s personalities, their humor, their work ethic, you laugh, you problem-solve, you sweat a little. Before you know it, the person you used to just nod at in church has become a friend.

That’s what makes a church feel like home. When people serve together, they create a deep bond. Churches thrive when members actively contribute, turning a congregation into a close-knit, spiritually growing family.

And let’s be real, church should feel like family. If we only show up on Sundays and never do anything together, we stay at the surface level. But when we work toward something together—especially something bigger than us—we create connections that last. Eggstravaganza isn’t just an event, it’s an opportunity to build real friendships within the church.

This is More Than an Egg Hunt—It’s Gospel Outreach

We’re not just giving kids baskets of candy and sending them on their way. We’re making sure they and their families leave knowing something about Jesus.

That’s why we’ll be:

  • Handing out gospel materials so parents and kids can take home the message of Easter.
  • Offering a prayer booth for anyone who needs it. (And if you’re willing to help with that, we need you!)
  • Inviting people to church so they can continue learning about Christ long after the last egg has been found.

An Easter egg hunt can be more than just fun—it can be a moment of spiritual growth. Adding a message of Christ’s resurrection transforms it into a meaningful experience. This is a real chance to share the gospel. Some families at Eggstravaganza may never have set foot in a church before. Some may be struggling and need prayer. Some may be searching for answers. Let’s not waste the opportunity.

Serving Grows Your Faith in a Way That Nothing Else Does

It’s easy to sit in church and hear about faith. It’s different when you step out and live it. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” When we serve, we’re not just doing tasks, we’re worshiping. And here’s the thing, serving at an event like this will change you.

  • You’ll walk away with a stronger faith because you stepped out of your comfort zone.
  • You’ll feel more connected to the church because you were part of something bigger.
  • You’ll experience the joy that comes from giving, because that’s how God designed us to live.

Volunteering is a powerful way to grow closer to God. It deepens our understanding of Christ’s love, strengthens our trust in Him, and reminds us that true joy comes from giving, not receiving. When we pour ourselves out for others, God fills us up in ways we never expected.

Are You In?

Eggstravaganza isn’t just about hiding eggs. It’s about showing our community who Jesus is—through our love, our service, and our willingness to make time for people who need Him.

  • If you want to help families see the love of Christ, this is your chance.
  • If you want to build real friendships within the church, this is your chance.
  • If you want to step out in faith and grow, this is your chance.

So, are you in?

If you’re ready to serve, let us know! Whether you can set up, greet families, hand out materials, or pray with people—we need you. Let’s make Eggstravaganza a day where people experience Jesus, not just hear about Him.
