‘If you have a pulse, you are a leader.’ – James C. Hunter.

The Commitment

‘If you have a pulse, you are a leader.’ – James C. Hunter. Have you ever stopped to think about that? Leadership isn’t about lofty titles or corner offices; it’s woven into every aspect of life—every decision, every relationship, every community. That’s why you need to consider our Christian Leadership Class. On Tuesday, November 7th, our weekly one-hour class starts at 7 PM; it’s far more than an optional add-on to your spiritual journey. Running until June, this eight-month commitment is designed to amplify the innate leader in you and align it with God’s purpose. We’re offering you the opportunity to refine the leadership skills God has already given you.

In God’s eyes, Christian leadership is about your character and the genuine influence you can have on others. As John C. Maxwell puts it, ‘The true test of leadership is influence—nothing more, nothing less.’ Proverbs 28:20 tells us that a ‘faithful person will be richly blessed.’ Our goal? To shape you into a faithful, well-trained leader who fosters unity, joy, and positive energy in the home or church and the broader community. With that aim, let’s delve into what exactly this course covers.

What’s Under the Hood

Leadership is a serious commitment that goes beyond feel-good quotes or momentary inspiration. It demands consistent action and unswerving dedication. James C. Hunter so aptly states, ‘What’s leadership? Doing the right thing even when you don’t feel like it.’ This course isn’t just about understanding the concept of leadership; it’s about practicing it in real life. Each session is a guided discussion on Biblical leadership, where we set personal goals and delve into the Bible. We also emphasize accountability, with regular check-ins to gauge your progress. Therefore, expect to roll up your sleeves, dig deep, and sometimes do what you don’t feel like doing. But rest assured, it’s all designed to prepare you for the unique calling God has placed on your life.

The focus of the class isn’t just to fill your head with academic theories. Instead, we aim to delve deep into the Bible to discover what God truly values in a leader. It’s about ‘Guard(ing) your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.’ (Proverbs 4:23). Your commitment to this class involves the following:

  • Set Seven Goals: Right out of the gate, you’re setting your sights on personal and spiritual growth.
  • Bible Reading Plan: Stay rooted in the Word.
  • Corporate Prayer: Connect and grow through communal conversations with God.
  • Accountability: Step up and be responsible.
  • Time Management: Use your hours wisely.
  • Wisdom: Make God-honoring choices.
  • Self-Control: Lead with discipline.

This group isn’t just academic—it’s a journey to deepen your walk with God.

Life-Changing Tales Of Christian Leadership

Every weekend at MCCC’s worship services, you’ll hear from alums of the Christian Leadership Class sharing their journeys. Hearing their stories, you’ll soon realize that they’re not just better leaders—they’re better spouses, parents, and community members. These testimonials are not just ‘feel-good’ stories; they’re real-life transformations attesting to the spiritual and leadership growth that comes from this class. “A faithful person will be richly blessed…” (Proverbs 28:20a). Many who’ve been through the class can testify to the richness of spiritual growth that results from making a genuine commitment to leadership the way God intended. This leads us to a crucial question: are you willing to pay the price for such a transformation?

At the heart of this class is a promise of transformation—not just as leaders but as individuals in a relationship with God. What you invest in time and dedication will be returned to you tenfold in spiritual enrichment and practical life skills. “Let us not become weary in doing good,” states Galatians 6:9, “for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

The payoff? A more assertive character, a better understanding of God’s word, and enhanced leadership abilities. You will grow personally and be better equipped to contribute to what God has in store for you and is calling you to do for Him in your life. Imagine your impact on your homes, families, friends, and community. What could God do with you if you let Him?

Are You Willing to Pay the Price?

Let me be clear: this class demands personal investment and dedication. There is the one-hour class, bible reading, verse memorization, prayer, and leadership podcast to listen to. But don’t let that scare you off. As 1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us, ‘Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.’ Expect to read, memorize, and even speak publicly to prepare you for God’s calling. When Jesus said in Luke 9, He was transparent about the cost of discipleship: “If you want to serve with Me you must deny yourself and take up your cross daily and follow me.” No sugar-coating. The price tag of meaningful life change is high, but the reward is eternal.

Seize Your ‘No-Fail’ Opportunity

The beauty of this course is that it’s a no-fail opportunity. You can’t fail this course; you can only grow and mature. The resources you need for success are already in your reach; it’s just a matter of tapping into them. The clock is ticking, and seats are filling up fast. This is more than just a class; it’s your path to becoming the leader God intends you to be. Don’t let hesitation or fear keep you from an opportunity that promises lifetime impact.
